Install Scopebit and open a project.
Scopebit is currently in 1.0 release-candidate testing on Windows. The normal workflow is download, install, open a folder, and start coding.
Get the latest Scopebit-Setup.exe from the download page. The site points to the latest GitHub Release.
Run the installer. The self-contained build includes the desktop runtime, so normal users do not need Node.js, npm, or BAT files.
Choose an existing project folder or create a new project, then select a file from the Explorer.
Keep backups of important projects while the 1.0 release candidate is being validated, especially before large AI-assisted changes.
One workspace, four main areas.
Scopebit keeps the editor, project tools, terminal, preview, and AI workflow in one window.
Project files
Browse folders, open files, create files or folders, rename items, and refresh the project tree.
Monaco
Use the same editor core used by VS Code, with syntax highlighting, suggestions, find/replace, tabs, and diagnostics.
Terminal + problems
Run commands from the project directory and jump directly to Monaco diagnostics.
Scopebit Agent
Ask for multi-file changes, follow progress, and review exactly what changed afterward.
Code directly, with suggestions when you want them.
Scopebit uses Monaco as the actual editing surface. Autofill adds lightweight suggestions without replacing the normal editor workflow.
JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, Python, and JSON include common snippets and completion helpers.
When a suggestion is active, press Tab to accept it. Press Ctrl + Space to manually open suggestions.
Toggle word wrap with Alt + Z, zoom with Ctrl + +/-, and use the command palette for additional controls.
The status bar shows whether autofill is on. Click the autofill status to toggle it.
Work on the project that already exists.
Scopebit treats the folder you open as the source of truth instead of generating a disconnected copy somewhere else.
Use the Open button or Ctrl + O to choose a folder.
Press Ctrl + P and start typing a filename.
Use the search view in the left activity bar to search across project files.
Create files/folders from the Explorer, then right-click a tree item to rename or delete it.
Run the project without leaving Scopebit.
The integrated terminal runs commands from the current project directory and keeps their output inside the workspace.
› npm run dev
Local: http://localhost:5173/
ready waiting for changes…
Use the Run button for the project’s configured run workflow, or type a command directly. Use the stop button to stop a running process.
See the app beside the code.
Scopebit can open a split preview inside the IDE. Static HTML projects can be previewed directly, and development servers can be detected from terminal output.
Use the preview reload control when needed. If a framework starts a localhost URL such as a Vite dev server, Scopebit can use that URL for the preview.
Ask for a change, not a replacement project.
The Scopebit Agent works from the current project context and can make targeted edits across multiple files.
checks Scopebit Cloud
reads the current project snapshot
decides which files need changes
writes the requested changes
reloads project state and surfaces changed files
Be specific about the result you want. Example: “Add a settings modal that matches the existing dark UI and preserve the current navigation.”
See exactly what the agent changed.
After an AI edit, Scopebit keeps the before-and-after contents and surfaces modified files for review.
- oldButton.className = 'primary'- panel.style.borderRadius = '22px'+ button.classList.add('scopebit-action')+ panel.classList.add('panel-clean')Click Review in the agent panel or select a changed file from an AI message to open Monaco’s Diff Editor.
AI is separate from local editing.
The IDE can still open, edit, search, save, run, and preview local projects without the AI service. Scopebit Cloud is only required for agent requests.
Works without AI
Monaco editing, file tools, terminal commands, search, save, and preview are local IDE features.
Agent requests
When you use the agent, relevant project context is sent through Scopebit Cloud so the request can be processed.
Open the Cloud settings from the top bar to check or update the backend URL. The status bar shows whether Scopebit Cloud is connected.
read the privacy notice ↗Review changes. Recover when needed.
Before Scopebit applies an AI file-edit plan, it stores a local checkpoint for the touched paths. After the edit, you can review the diff or restore the previous checkpoint with Undo last AI edit.
Undo the latest AI edit
Scopebit restores files that existed before the edit and removes files that were newly created by that AI operation.
Excluded from AI context
.env, private-key formats, and common credential files are blocked from project context.
Recycle Bin
Manual project deletion moves files and folders to the Windows Recycle Bin instead of permanently erasing them.
Risk confirmation
Focused destructive command patterns require a second confirmation before Scopebit runs them.
Git basics without leaving Scopebit.
Open the Source Control panel to see the current branch, changed files, initialize a repository, open changed files, and create a local commit.
Git must be installed on Windows. Your first commit may also require the normal Git user.name and user.email configuration.
One place for editor, AI, updates, and diagnostics.
Settings controls autofill, autosave, minimap, word wrap, font size, Scopebit Cloud, release checks, privacy information, and diagnostic logs.
Autofill, autosave, minimap, word wrap, and editor font size.
Save and test the backend URL and review how project context is handled.
Check the official GitHub release and open the newest user-approved installer.
If Monaco or another startup feature fails, open the local diagnostic log folder directly from Scopebit.

Common fixes.
Monaco couldn’t load
Use the editor recovery screen to Retry editor or Open logs. The 1.0 release candidate also refuses to build unless the bundled Monaco runtime is present. If the runtime is still missing, reinstall from the latest official installer.
download the latest build ↗Scopebit Cloud says offline
Local editing still works. Open Cloud settings, confirm the backend URL is correct, and test again. Internet access is required for AI requests.
The preview is blank
Make sure the project is running successfully first. Check the terminal for errors. Framework projects may require their normal dev command before a localhost preview becomes available.
The installer shows a Windows warning
Release-candidate builds may be unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen can show a publisher warning. Only download Scopebit from the official Scopebit site or the linked GitHub Release.
I found a bug
Use the Contact page or GitHub Issues. Include the Scopebit version, Windows version, what you expected, what happened, and any error text with secrets removed.
report a problem ↗Free IDE. Optional Pro agent.
Scopebit accounts carry your Free or Pro entitlement. The local IDE stays usable on Free; Pro changes the cloud allowance and model route when Scopebit Cloud is configured for it.
Local features stay available
Monaco, files, terminal, preview, Git, local autofill, checkpoints, and diff review are not locked behind Pro.
30-day manual pass
Pro is manually renewed. The billing page creates a unique payment note, and access activates only after the Cash App payment is manually verified.
Scopebit never asks for your Cash App password, PIN, card number, or bank credentials.
