the short version
Scopebit is an IDE first. Editing local files does not require sending your project to the cloud. When you choose to use AI features, Scopebit needs to send your prompt and relevant project context to Scopebit Cloud so the request can be processed.
accountAccount and billing data
If you create a Scopebit account, Scopebit stores your email address, a one-way password hash, session records, plan status, and billing-order history. For Cash App Pro orders, you may also submit the Cash App name or $cashtag used to pay so the operator can manually match the payment. Scopebit does not ask for or store your Cash App password, PIN, card number, or bank credentials.
Pro payments are manually verified outside Scopebit. Account and billing data should be kept only as long as needed to operate accounts, resolve billing issues, and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements.
what may be processed
AI requests may include the prompt you write, a compact project map, selected or relevant source files, conversation history needed for the request, and technical information required to operate the service. Basic service logs such as request timing, IP address, error information, and usage metadata may also be processed for reliability, abuse prevention, and debugging.
local projects
Your local project stays on your device unless you use a feature that needs project content to leave the device. Scopebit does not need to upload an entire project just because it is open in the editor; AI requests should only send context needed to perform the requested task.
ai and third-party infrastructure
Scopebit Cloud may use third-party infrastructure and AI providers to generate responses. Information included in an AI request can therefore be processed by those services under their own security, privacy, and retention practices. Provider availability and behavior can change during the release candidate.
secrets and sensitive data
Scopebit automatically excludes common secret files such as .env, private-key formats, and common credential files from AI context. You should still avoid intentionally placing passwords, access tokens, payment information, or other highly sensitive data into prompts or ordinary source files.
retention and security
Scopebit Cloud may retain limited operational logs when needed to keep the service secure and reliable. The desktop app also keeps local diagnostic logs on your device for startup, editor, terminal, and cloud troubleshooting. These local logs are not automatically uploaded by the desktop app. The release candidate does not promise zero-retention processing for cloud requests. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.
changes to this notice
Scopebit is still evolving. This privacy notice may be updated as the product, hosting, or AI infrastructure changes. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
